What is SCENAR? PDF Print E-mail

SCENAR (Self Controlling Energo-Neuro Adaptive Regulation) was initially a byproduct of the Russian space programme in the 1970s. After Alexander Karasev created the first TENS device, he decided to improve upon it. The TENS machine, blocks pain S.C.E.N.A.R. stimulates the body into self-regulating away the cause of the pain. S.C.E.N.A.R. technology seeks through the device to emulate a living system which in dialogue with another living system triggers the processes necessary for self-stimulating the body back into a balanced, healthy state. It was a Russian military secret for many years but they are now more commercially available. It was introduced to the UK in the late 1990s and Prof Keith Scott-Mumby (author of "Virtual Medicine") immediately called it the "Star Trek" device, after Dr Bones McCoy's cure all sci-fi device. The devices are in widespread use in the old "eastern block countries", and results are extraordinary, but in the UK and US things are moving a little more slowly. Here the device is nearly unknown, it has the tag "alternative therapy" associated with it, and has a license only for pain relief. I think that it is the most significant medical technology to have been developed, I think it will change medicine enormously this century and I think the pharmaceutical companies will hate it. There is more information about SCENAR on other websites.

This is a detailed history of its development, you'll need adobe reader

ISTA (of which I am a student member) is an excellent source for information too

Have a listen to this recent teleseminar with Prof Keith Scott-Mumby, although long and fraught with audio problems, some of this is mind blowing
